All,
I have my radiator out of my 6080, and am looking to take care of an oil leak while I have room to work.  The leaks are on the front of the engine where the front case meets the block.  In the pictures, you can see the locations where the gaskets would be, but have Red RTV coming out.  (see arrows)
Can I replace these gaskets with minimal hassle or am I going to get into the engine deep when I take things apart?
Thanks for your assistance.

John

not an ez job- pull the front end, crank pulley, front cover, cam gear, and front support plate.  The plate rests on 2 dowel pins. Sometimes with loader the front support plate will oblong or wallow the holes or dowels.  We never use silicone as a sealer, we use the Indian head gasket shellac that hardens on the gaskets that fit to the front of the block. Silicone is ok for the pan front.  Replace the front main seal as well. If it has the front bearing support for crank thrust set this via shims as well.

tbran,
I am curious if you recall the threading of the crankshaft pulley retaining capscrew?  All my repair manuals do not show if it is normally threaded, or reverse threaded.  I don't want to go the wrong way on the first pull.

Thank you,
John
