Watched the Big Iron auction for stuff near Longmont, CO. The AC C (which was listed as a CA) brought $750, the D17, might have been a series 4, couldn't tell, brought $2,300 and the CA, listed as a C17, brought $925. I bid a bit on the CA but let it go. None of the tractors had been run in years and who knows what work was needed. The guy had an old Cat 12E grader which I know hasn't run since he bought it 10+ years ago brought $3,900. Guess someone thinks there is going to be lots of work for blades soon. Figure I wasted a couple hours watching stuff I didn't really need sell when it's over 60 degrees and I've got a bunch of stuff to do. Later guys.

You said AC stuff was kind of rare out there in Colorado, and it can only go higher, they're not making any more AC equipment. Didn't want to tell my banker that my equipment was losing value when the price of scrap went down. Now I've got good news for him.

It is interesting that when I was growing up, the farm where the auction was held was known as the Anderson place. Maybe 25 years ago the Anderson family moved about 5 miles away to the wife's parents place. Found out they had only been renting it for something like 30 years. Never met the "new" owner nor did I know he had any AC's, must have been parked in the sheds. I drove by today and someone I didn't recognize was disking with an an almost new JD tractor and Lindell disk, those ones painted bright blue. Never saw that outfit before either. Gonna have to ask one of the neighbors around there.
