Is there a difference between the head on them like a different casting number or valve size?

I just put a head from a 138 cu. in. engine (early D-10/12) on a D-14 149 cu.in. engine with no problems.  Don't know about the 149 to 160.

138 & 149 heads are interchangeable as mentioned. You can put either of those heads on a 160 if you drill out the head bolt holes. 138 &149 have 7/16" bolts and the 160 has 1/2" bolts. Also the 160 head has a spot to mount the temperature sensor up front in the thermostat pot to get a true temperature reading instead of back over top of the rear exhaust valve where the reading will always be about 20-30 degrees hotter.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY
