Subject: The Last AC 7000 series?? & 1st AC 8000 series

Anyone know what the Model # was of the Last AC 7000 series tractor built before the transition to the 8000 series? Maybe someone knows or has the Last AC 7000 series currently? Would be neat to know where it went and hopefully it's still around someplace.

While we know we will never see the last ever 8070 built again, as it went overseas, would be interesting to know where the 1st Serial# 8010, 8030, 8050, and 8070 ended up and if they are still in the US or Canada.

Anyone have the 1st Allis 7000 series, Serial #1?

I have the last 7580 built #3019.  I don't know when it was built but the casting date on the engine block is Nov of 81.  Would be neat to have some of the paper work with it to see a sales date.

That is very neat that you happen to own the last AC 7580 built. Yes the paper work would be neat to have with the tractor, but in the end the real Serial # is on the tractor and it's safe in North America on a good home. Would be neat to see where the 1st Serial # 7580 was sent to?

we have the second 8030, serial 1002.

Has a sticker from Mountain View Equipment, Meridian Idaho, and was purchased not far from there.

If you need parts for your Gleaner, we are parting out A's through L2's, so we may be able to help.

The 7580 has a sticker from a dealer in Lewiston Idaho.  A big thing on the cars I have redone is build dates, casting dates, and date stamps to confirm a cars authenticity.  I wonder if AC date stamped other parts?  That would be a way to narrow down when it was made.  I have never looked at it too close to check for stampings.

Here is a picture of when I pulled it off the trailer.  Gives you an idea of how much bigger it is than the 7060.

Both great looking AC's! Has the 7060 been repainted? Or is she original? Yes quite a difference in size between the 7060 and 7580.

Paper work is only so good. I know where an 8550 was sitting brand new in a shed in the summer of 1986. So when it was sold it was over 5 years old. If l remember right your 7580 is a higher serial number then even listed in books.

I just looked in the orange bible of Norm Swinfords book. And it says 3018 is the last 7580 built. That's why these books can not always be taken for fact.

The 7060 is original paint, around 5000 hrs.  I added the stadium lights and mirrors, I like the look.  I bought a black belly 7080, cheap, a while ago so the 7060 was extra.  I sold it at auction.  I'm kicking myself as I had redone most everything that was needed to make it dependable, could just get in it and go.  Now the 7080 is getting there but, I need to quit taking on these projects.  Between the kids, grandkids, cars, house and tractors I don't think I will ever get done.   But I'm having fun.

Mayer's have some very unique and rare items on there lot. Thought that they also own a Narrow Front 190 or 190XT as well? I take it the 4W-220 and 8070 with both Serial #1001 are part of a personal collection and not for sale at the dealer? Don't blame them for keeping those 2 for themselves. Wish someone had the hindsight to have kept the Last 8000 series built as well in North America.

Original paint on that 7060 MB Wow! It's a shame you had to sell the 7060. Hopefully it went to a good home and is not neglected. Hang on to that 7580 though.

I have serial #1 4W-305.  Still used on our farm.  There are many noticeable areas on the tractor that are welded and ground smooth (8550 parts changed design to be the 4w-305).  When I bought it (I am the third owner) the drop box was out.  Since rebuilding the drop box and repainting it.  It has also been overhauled also.

Our 8070 and 4W220 will not be leaving the collection anytime soon. We do have a couple 190 Narrow fronts as well. If your ever in South West Ohio stop by and see us.

Serial number 1001 and 1002 4w220s are prototypes, Norm calls them 1981s. They started selling them in 1982@ serial number 1003. And l have that one. Serial number 1001 1002 were bought out of the proving grounds.

This is  great topic! On Bobs tractor the console and shifter and throttle are different than the production tractors and on the center pivet there is a bunch of torch marks and other marks. I will try to get photos next week. Maybe Kevin in WA will know more on what he remembers.

Anyone know where the Last Serial # 8050 AC ended up?

Very interesting information I am learning about on all these 1st and last serial # AC tractors that are out there. I am sure there are plenty more of them out and about.

Anyone know where the 2nd to last 6000 Series tractor built was shipped too, or what model it was? We all know about the infamous 6070. Would be curious to know if the 2nd to last 6000 series was also a 6070 or a 6080.

What do the dash faces look like on the early 8000"s? Are they the digital style?

All 8000s I have ever seen had analog guages like the 7000s.  Tachometer on on the right and a combination fuel/temp gauge on the left and they moved the idiot lights that were in the middle of the dash on the 7000s  so they were across the top on the 8000s.

The last 8050 was for sale back in 2009 in Marshalltown IA. It had 750 or 950 hours on it and was a FWA powershift. It looked brand new. I think it was a trade in, and the dealer wanted $45000 for it. I dont know who bought it. I called about it for the price but couldnt afford that much.

I know that this isn't an 8000 series but we own serial number 1 5020. Very handy little tractor. We would like to find more information on it but sadly the original owner passed away.

Ive always wondered if manufacturers kept first and last, or significant numbered units like the 100000th farmall tractor manufactured by IH, or the first L Gleaner or last L3, or prototypes. What happened to the 63 inch cylinder baldwin design Gleaner with the steering on the back? Or that cool test tractor seen in the video with the guy driving bouncing all over the place. Would be cool to know. I know gmc/gm has a heritage collection, I think you can go see it. Trev.

I know that Deere does for sure has some of the last tractors of a series in their archive, such as the Last 4020 built, Last JD 4960 etc. Think Deere has the last 7810, and 4440 Deere's as well.

Not sure about Case IH Through.
