Does anyone know how many hours it should take to change the clutch's in late serial number 6080?  We bought it new in 1985 an it has 7400 hours on it. The PTO will not engage. Which could mean the shift fork roll pin broke or the fork itself or the clutch.

depends , loader or no, 2 wd or 4 - ?  throw 'flat rate ' away - after 10 year ha,  usually takes 10-14 hours cause you are probably going to find some weird stuff.  Unless the hub is twisted out - you may have other issues.  Does it grind when putting the seasonal disconnect in? ( the lever in the floor) - make sure it is in when splitting it cause if the inner shaft comes with the clutch - you have to go fishing for the coupler...

4-wd with no loader. Pto acted like it popped out of engagement and doesn't act like it's doing anything. Like the pin that holds the shift fork broke.

If the pto won't engage or turn the shift fork wouldn't be your problem. The shift fork would disengage the pto clutch.  Could be the pto clutch disc is completely grenaded and has no lining, that would be pretty rare but clutches have been known to do that.  I would look at the seasonal disconnect.   Just as Tbran mentioned see if it will grind when you try to engage it running.

I meant to say the clutch fork, not shift fork.

My flat rate manual says that it takes 5 hours to remove and replace engine assembly from the transmission.

Turn PTO by hand with seasonal disconnect disengage. Then engage seasonal disconnect. If it feels the same, may be in coupler.
Unbolt PTO at back and see if center pin is free to push in and out. Could be 1/2 way between 540 and 1000.         MACK

The pivot pin was sheared off on the linkage is why the PTO wouldn't go into gear. The friction material was wore but not to the point of failure. Fingers were wore quite a bit though. We removed the PTO housing and checked the spider shaft retaining pin. It unscrewed by hand. Its  back together and has ground a couple batches of feed and hauled a half dozen loads of manure.
