Hi, Guy's   On the 1936 WC With no starter Hand crank I was having trouble getting timed I had it Mag of and put #1 on TDC. For got about all the timing marks and Fire make is it on or on the bottom. Put #1 on TDC installed mag lined up rotor and put on cap and installed plugs. Drained out the gas the needle was stick taped carb got it all out and put in 91 octane and then carb was running gas out taped carb it stop. Chocked it once open chock cranked it for the second time it started up and I was surprised.

One question on the timing I have the top of the mag turned all the way towards  the engine and the Fire mark in the top hole is just to the right of the center. I think it dose quite sound right to Me. It may be off some????

 Thank You

If it didn't kick you on your big a,----then the timing has got to be close!---having the mag all the way in,---sounds like off 1 tooth, check the mag teeth inside the cap,---could be off a tooth on that gear! thanks; ac fleet

The drive keyway on the back of the governor should be perfectly horizontal when number one is at TDC of the compression stroke.  Then the mag should end up being nearly straight up and down and the stud should be close to centered on the slot.
