Has anyone else had this problem with aftermarket front hub seals on CA, D10, D12?
I was installing a new spindle and wheel bearings on my D12 yesterday. No matter what I tried I could not get the replacement seal to set on the spindle when using an aftermarket (ACS-1177) seal. I then tried an AGCO seal from the bearing kit I had for the other side of the axle and was able to install it without too much trouble. The ID of the aftermarket seal was visibly smaller than the AGCO part. Has anybody else had this problem? It looks like most of the seals of this type offered to for sale on the internet are the ACS1177 aftermarket part.

I don't think that the Chinese got the conversion from inch to metric right.  I finally started using a lip seal that is backwards from the OEM ones. I can't find a box with the number of what I've been using right now.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

this is what I had from several years ago on rebuild.

Inner seal                     1.500 -2.506                7/16 lip seal           CR 15141 –or 15142

that would be the ID, and OD, and the thickenss 7/16... bet the new seal is probably only 5/16. Chicago RAwhide is the manufacturer.  can buy at bearing house.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.
