Hello everyone. My name Brad and I purchased my dads D17 a few weeks ago. I used it when I was younger. This poor thing sat in the shed a good 6+years without running. So after rebuilding the carb, points and a coil, she purrs really nice. Finally got it out this weekend to see the sun. Before I get to crazy, still a few things to fix then I can bring her home. If anyone knows a good place to look for a 3 point converson kit, please let me know. I had seen some ranging from $360 to $1200. Not sure what to look for. 2 basic styles , wishbone style that is easier to install and remove . This style is best if you want to use both snap coupler and 3 point implements . Other style is a stouter version "Saginaw " is what some are called , harder to take on and off , if 3 point is all you are going to do use this style seems better , but more expensive . Welcome to the forum. D17s are one of ACs best tractors, they do not back down from anything. Fortunately for you, that tractor was parked in a shed for 6 years. If it sat outside that long, you would be spending a lot more money to get it running. For any parts you need, check out the vendors that advertise here. They know their stuff and will give you honest advice. If you don't already have an operator's manual, I strongly recommend getting one. Welcome to the forum Brad. These guys are the very best at giving quality information. The D17 is one of the best Allis put out. You can't go wrong with any of the vendors on this sight and Daehler has been one of our good members for quite some time so a used 3 point conversion from him might save you a few coins. Yes Welcome Brad! I'm just down the road from you, about 10 miles South of Bates City. Come by sometime and we can talk tractors. I covered up with AC tractors all the time at my place. ------------- 3 WD45's with power steering,G,D15 fork lift,D19, W-Speed Patrol, "A" Gleaner with a 330 corn head,"66" combine,roto-baler, and lots of Snap Coupler implements to make them work for their keep. |

Yes, all fluids were checked. The oil and filter was changed first thing. As soon as I get it home I will change the coolant, belts and battery cables. Then the all the gauges. It appears they dont work. ------------- 1957 Gas D17 Series I Allis 80R bar mower |

Don(MO) is always willing to help those of us that are a lot less knowledgeable than he is. Take him up on his offer for help. If he lived 10 miles from me, I would be visiting often!!! He has forgot more about AC tractors than I will ever know!
