Are the kingpins on an 8070 fwd axel made of special metal? They appear to be just shaftstock? I can make my own but want to make sure on the steel. Thanks!

They are hardened, can't remember the "Rockwell hardness number". About 25 years ago had a machine shop in Lincoln, NE make some for us. Good Luck, Mike
