How many people would be interested in a strictly AC show similar to the one Dale Haymaker had. It would have to be near the end of June. I have been growing cereal rye for seed and it could be harvested like wheat and baled (so we would have need for All Crops and possibly Gleaners and square balers. I also hopefully will have my seed cleaner setup to clean the rye (made out of an old All Crop and Clipper cleaner. We would also have need of either plow/disc/planter or drill, or AC no till planters to put out my double crop soybeans. Does anyone have any input on doing some thing like this. How many people would be willing to help set up before/tear down after? I have 25 acres around the house. I don't have room for campers like Dale, but local park does (about 2 miles away). Any input is appreciated. Thanks Adam

Dale's was a good show...trying to find a good date was always a problem....a date that lines up ahead of the northern shows works out for the camping folks....Dales family and the Indiana Partners provided the volunteers and the insurance...Maybe something would work out....also...don't forget all the avid plow folks..

Well, that is what I had thought about too is making sure the plow guys were included. My only worry is the small window that is left to harvest the rye. It's very similar to wheat other than it ripens a little later and then the straw also takes slightly longer to dry.

I hope it works out, Sandknob! I was able to go to Dale's the year we did the Build-a-B. I can't bring a tractor, but I'd be interested to come if the date works out.

Looking at my show directory, the Penfield, Il. show( featuring AC) is the event that's close to that date and it's July 7-8 weekend. So your end of June date could work.

It won't be this year as I will have corn on this particular field. The next fall I'll plant the rye. Just thinking out loud right now and debating on what I would need to make it work. Thanks Adam

Adam I would be willing to come over and help ,bring a tractor or 2 . The GOTOs for 2018 are April in Tenn. and August in Pontiac Il. . Late June would work for me . Allis Connection has a show each fathers day weekend but late June should not overlap.

Go for it. Another A-C show in Illinois would be a good thing.
