Tried posting this question on another forum of a different color, but though I'd ask on here even though we are talking about one of the dreaded green and yellow machines. It's (hopefully) a universal enough topic that it'll generate some help on here!

I have a JD 3520 with a frame-mounted backhoe. The problem is with removing the bh. The rockshaft is not rising high enough to take the weight of the bh off the pins that secure it to the tractor. Hydraulic fluid level is fine, though the fluid and filter are due for a change. There only about 500 hours on the tractor. The rockshaft used to lift the bh just fine - the problem has emerged in the last year. I'm wondering might be causing this and what I might do about it.

On the 4410 compact there is a threaded rod that comes from the rochshaft housing to the lift arm should be on the left arm that senses your lift hight. I dont remember what way to adjust the nuts. The proper setting is so there is about an inch of free play lift on the arms once it is raised. If you adjusted to far. It would put a load on the engine and suffer some power loss issue

Thanks, Karl. I spotted that rod earlier today. I'll try adjusting that rod and see if that helps.

The good news is that I used the bh hydraulics to take the load off the pins and got the bh off. :)
