Wondering what the difference is in the black stripe and orange 430 corn heads. If using for 30 acres on an F2.

The black has a lower approach angle.

Not much difference in performance in my view.Orange heads have drive chains for the rolls that run all over the place but with proper care they aren't a problem. They have rt angle gear boxes that need the lube kept up on. Too many guys ran them out of grease. The rolls with the double sprocket can work loose(the sprocket).Don't ever let that happen cause it aint no fun replaceing that shaft.Orange is good if taken care of and usually cheaper.I ran an older 3 row flat chain orange head 19yrs on an A2 and got along well. The orange hd for an F had better snappin roll setup.

for 30 acres I would not hesitate to run the orange head.

The upkeep is a little higher, but they can be had cheaper and they still do a great job.

The wider they went, the worse the upkeep, a orange 8R30 for an L was not fun. :)

Gleaner: the properly engineered and built combine.

If you need parts for your Gleaner, we are parting out A's through L2's, so we may be able to help.

I had all orange heads, never had a problem, but I kept grease and oil on them just like I would with any head. and they are cheaper to buy. I bought one 4 row on a auction for a dollar. and used it for a parts head. still have most of it. only needed idler pulleys off it for mine.
