Hey happy Thanksgiving everyone! Got a quick head scratcher here. I traded an old D-14 for a SC 6' scraper blade. Tried to hook it all up last week and only got about ten minutes into the process when I learned something new: There are different spacing widths of snap coupler lift arms. I've seen some pics of the blades with two sets of holes in the top bar, unfortunately mine doesn't have both sets of holes, so in order to get this blade onto my D-10 II, I'm guessing I need to make some new holes in the top bar? Anyone done this? Who knows the spacing and what size drill bit? Also, am I committing sacrilege by doing this?

Ok, looked at the blade...
the top horizontal bar is about 31 1/4" long and 1 1/2" wide and 3/8" thick the outermost holes are 30 1/8" apart the innermost holes are 27 1/2" apart all 4 holes are 3/4" diameter there is a hole dead cneter of the bar that the 2 'diagonals' get bolted to each diagonal is 16 1/4" hole to hole the two uprights are 6 3/4" hole to hole
the overall bottom width of the round pip is 31 1/4"
hope this helps

You know, I never cease to be amazed how this forum works. Here a man from Pennsylvania needed information and a man from Ontario Canada responds with the exact information. Thanks again Darin for an outstanding forum. Good Luck! Bill Long

It's the quality of the people who make the forum what it is. Course this probably includes Darin. LOL

Great news! I managed to break the bolts loose and got the top bar out with a little help from my friend the hot wrench. Gonna go scrounge around for a 3/4 inch drill bit for my press, and make some fresh holes. Been looking at the geometry, wondering how the upright supports are gonna jive with the cross members once I move those holes inboard. I'll jump off that bridge when I get to it, I guess. Thanks for the help. Yes, this forum is the greatest. I've been quiet over the last couple years, haven't really been doing many old tractor projects. Glad life is in a place for me now where I have time to tinker this kind of stuff on my own, with help from all the Allis Forum folks, of course.
