Figured I'd share this photo; we bought this tractor from the original owner, a local dairy farmer, who passed away. His wife was nice enough to sell it to us. I guess we've had it around 10-12 years, now. It's my favorite of our Allis tractors to run. The 185's are one of the best tractors ever made, in my book; big enough to do about anything you need them to, small enough to be easy to maneuver and operate. And very comfortable and user friendly. This one is my baby, I treat it with kid gloves. I'll pick corn with nothing else!

Bought new at the Dr. C. Huff Company in Huff/Caneyville, Kentucky. We have the original owners manual with Denby Huff's signature on the delivery page.

We've bought a few other pieces of equipment from this same farmer's widow; they loved AC tractors and equipment, and took great care of everything they had, always keeping it inside. It's always a pleasure to find nice, original AC stuff!

Good looking tractor. Take you some mesh and put over the outside of grill. It will let the trash fall off and not plug your grill as much. Run cooler in this weather. HTH Tracy

Tracy, yes, I need to. The 185 is bad about sucking stuff inside; the larger holes in the grill screen allow it. The 200 is nice, the slots are much smaller. Much better, especially when bush-hogging.. Plus, sitting up taller out of the seeds and junk helps, too.

Like your signature line, by the way. Hope those people got the message these past eight years and don't do something stupid this year.

Looks like a nice picking setup. I just got a 185 about a year ago and really like it too. Very nice tractors.

Bought a new 185 in 1972 for $7,500.00 and used it for 20 years. Then in 1992 I scaled back on farming and sold it at my auction for $8,300.00 It was a great tractor. The only thing that would have been nice is the throttle and PD control in a right hand console like on my 200.

Yes.. The 200's controls make it a little smoother and easier to run. I argue that the PD on our 200 is the best PD that Allis put on any of their tractors.
