What's the main difference in the 300, 500 and 800 series flex heads? Im looking for a 24 ft head and there is a 500 series on a sale next weekend with reel drive pump on the head, which is what I need. I think its been said to stay away from a 500 series heads but not for sure. I like the 300 series since I've been around one my whole life. Haven't ever been around anything newer so I need some knowledge on them.

The 500 head is better than a 300 in my opinion. The cutter bar is 3" closer to the cross auger which helped in short beans, also went to a one piece feathersheet.

800 head the cutter bar was moved back forward to the 300 position and had a larger cross auger.

Out of the three models, the 500 is the best for soybeans.
