Hi, Just wondering If the auger needs to be fully extended to unload? It is tall enough for a 200 bushel wagon all the way extended but I bought a 400 bushel wagon and It is pretty tall. If I retract the auger it has a higher reach but Im not sure if It is meant to do that?

It is a hydraulic fold auger.

Thanks in advance
Nick

If positioned perfectly a K could dump into our 350 bushel wagons.

Take an 1 1/2" pipe and cut it 1 1/2" long, then cut it in half length ways. Use a hose clamp to put it back together on the unload auger cylinder. This will give you about another foot of unload height. Won't hurt anything.

I did the pipe on the cylinder. It raised the end of auger at least 12 inches. I can now unload without hitting my nephew's trailers. rrhead(SD)

If you don't want to replace the ujoint, better extend all the way. If the ujoint clatters at all, it won't long.     MACK

My F2 has a stop on back side of swivel.I added a new one a little short of original.Raised it about 6in.Just clears the bows on my hopper bottom if both are on flat ground.I almost never unload full throttle, usually 1/2-2/3.

What model did the pipe on the cylinder trick work on? I would like to get some more height on our l series combines but either don't understand the trick or don't think it would work on an l

when I needed extra height for my "K", when dumping into the semi, I had 2- 2x12's nailed together about 2 ft long. layed it on the ground and drove up on it with the left drive wheel. worked well!

Okay, I should be good then, It just looked low when I was dumping in the small wagon. Maybe my depth perception isn't too good. lol.  I wont find out for a few days until this rainy weather stops so I can finish my beans.

Jason 82: Nice soybeans, I wish mine were running 65 bushel an acre.  How many acres do you run through that combine?

What is your 400 bushel wagon? We used to dump in J&M 385s with an F3. Picked the auger up some never hurt anything.

If we didn't do that on our L3s we would never get them dumped. If you raise it to high it should shut off.

Them L's got electronics. The F2's until the latest were manual and you can fold the auger in while its running....it won't still be running if you get it folded LOL!
