I have a 7580 its a 1981 with 2082 hours on it. I'm in the process of painting it and fixing it up. One day I went to start it up and let it run for a little bit and notice my rear pto wasn't spinning. I put it in gear and nothing. I tried different things but nothing. I hope its not the torque limiter but if anybody has other options please let me know, thanks!!!

Will it steer? Will any shaft turn going to rear boggy turn? Sounds like TL hub or splines in PD. If it steers, PD. If no steering, TL.    MACK

welcome to the forum, Gary. Too bad you had to have troubles with an allis to bring you on board, but you come to the right place for AC knowledge. Darrel

Hmmm sounds like my 7580. Moving one minute dead the next. Mine steered fine and hydraulics functions. Currently in 600 pieces. Hopefully she will be back going before Halloween. Mechanic thinks the coupler going into the dropbox failed.

If couppler in dropbox failed, front would pull but rear would not. Stripped splines out of PD clutch.      MACK

My 7580 is down has been for 5 or 6 years now, with something locked up in the transmission. Been saying that I am going to fix it next year ever since it happened, and I guess next year just never comes, or something like that anyway. I sure do miss that old girl. It's not a real power house, but it's just plain fun to operate. I pulled a 24 foot concord air seeder with it mostly, but where it really shined, was on my 1,000 gallon, 100 foot flexi coil sprayer. Just rode so smooth. If I get er going again, it'll be my planter and sprayer tractor. Darrel

second the drop box coupler.  ours did this,  can be replaced by pulling rear cover of drop box which contains the hyd pump and gearing for rear pto shaft.  the top gear stub shaft splines are bad or the coupler is bad.  ours was just the coupler.  can be done with cab on.
