The hydro belt on my R7 flew apart on me last night and I've spent all day looking at the parts book trying to figure out how to change it. I am about stumped and tired of crawling up under the thing. Anyone know how to get it on?

If I remember right, unbolt bearings on shaft going into seperater clutch then slide shaft and clutch pins away from clutch. Not a fun job and poooor design. MACK

You have to pull the left side of the main shaft out. I've done more of them than I can count on both hands, at least. Been a long time now though. You have to take the main drive belt off the left side, and screw out the rotary coupler that is screwed into the center of the shaft. Has a hydraulic hose attached to it. Then, I guess you can skip the next step, which would be to remove the hydro belt, because yours is already off. Then take the four bolts out of the cast iron bearing housing of the outer bearing. Oops, have to back up, and do a different step first, which is to remove the big 4 groove pulley that the main drive belt was on. Do that by pulling out the 3 bolts and re-install them in the open holes, and that will push the pulley off of a tapered hub. Make sure you clean them bolt holes out good first, and put even pressure on the bolts as you push the pulley off. Once that is off, then proceed to remove them 4 bearing bolts. Take em completely out; nothing will fall on you. Then if you go under the machine, and look way up above, you'll see a loop that you can put a come along into. Put one into that hole, and put a light chain around the shaft directly below it and attach the other end of the come along to that chain, and ratchet the come along up just snug. Now the left part of the shaft should be moved to the left. Everything from the clutch plates to the left will move. The big hub holding the six clutch pins will stay put. Once it's moved far enough that the clutch plates clear the clutch pins, you can slip a new hydro belt on, or lower it down, so you can check for worn clutch pins, and condition of the pocket bearing, which is the one on the end of the shaft you just removed. Also, it is the bearing that I have to change on my N6 in the very near future. I hope this all makes sense to you. If you have any more questions, post em up, or PM me. It's really not a bad job. You may have to use a pry bar between that clutch pin hub and clutch plate, being careful not to damage the clutch plate. Also, have someone on the outside to steady the end of the shaft, because that bearing housing will slip out of the side sheet of the combine, and want to fall, long before the clutch plates clear the clutch pins. Thank you for the help! Got It apart and back on in two hours. Then cut two hundred bushel and the hydraulic pump drive bushings flew apart. Fixed those then a line started leaking then a water hose blew so not a good day.

Does the water pump have to come off to put on the short hose between it and the block

I got it fixed after 6 hours of working on it. Guy I just have to get all the bugs worked out.
