I am putting back together my 1942 Allis Chalmers C, and I have a couple of questions.

First, I am not sure how the left hydraulic cylinder fits on. I have it on, but then it rests on the belt pulley, which does not seem right. That is with hose on the top side. And it does not fit on with the hose on the bottom side.

Second (and probably related), I have two "L" shaped pieces that I am not sure where they go. Each are about two inches wide and then one side is about one inch and second side is about two inches long (and with two holes in it). I know they come from the seat area (I think) and maybe they hold the hydraulic cylinders up (or something) but I cannot find where they go.

I am almost done restoring the tractor except for these final details, which are driving me nuts. There is probably something obvious that I am missing. Yes, I do have an owners and parts manual, but I cannot find pictures of the two pieces.

The left cylinder is usually only installed when the left rockshaft lift is installed which supports the cylinder and holds it off of the pulley. My of the C's didn't have the belt pulley on them. LOL Bob

I found some pictures I had taken before taking the tractor apart. I had mounted the seat too low. The brackets go on the back of the seat. I also fabricated a bar mounted below the seat to hold the hydraulic cylinders up. I think previous owner just had them wired up with baling wire. Getting down to final states of restoration. Need to get decals on next. Plan to sell it after that. Nice little C and would be a good parade tractor
