Blower motor stopped working yesterday morning, pulled out the switch to see if it was still connected and was surprised to see the melted connector. One of the the switch prongs was also melted away. Any ideas why it would melt like this? What would cause the heat?

Connection had gotten loose causing higher amp draw/heat getting worse until they finally burn out.

I have seen this multiple times on the 6000&8000 series. Note the location of the wires in relation to the switch and then cut and crimp on new individual terminals for a new switch.

I've had a lot of those type switches do the same thing. they don't last forever!
