Hello all.  I purchased a new light/charge switch for my B and while it is listed as the correct switch on virtually every parts website the switch will not fit in the factory hole of the electrical box.  The newer switches are a newer style, which is fine if it would fit in the box.  Anyone ran into this problem.
The box looks like this

And the switch looks like this

As you can see the holes in the box cover are towards the corners and the switch hits now matter which way i turn it.

Any help would be appreciated.

I would call your vendor and tell him. If he does not know already, he should. Obviously the switch will not work, the resistor and fuse need to be toward the upper / center of the box.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

You need to talk to Steve at B&B Custom circuits. See his ad under (parts).
He will have the correct switch for you. He can also rebuild your old switch.
The aftermarket switch is too large to fit into the electrical box.
Also when you install the proper switch, run a wire from the #10 stove bolt to the ground connection on the post where the battery is grounded. The switch will not work without a good ground. LOL Bo

As Bob mentioned, we don't sell that particular switch. We offer an exchange program or can rebuild your original providing its the round Delco Remy switch with fuse tower. The switch mentioned may work fine for other applications, but according to a lot of our customer's over the years, that switch does not fit quite well in a few AC instrument boxes and you have to be real careful how its mounted. We've had customer's tell us about how they burned up their new wiring harness using that switch. What we're told is the switch grounds itself out on the inside of the instrument box and started things a cookin' if you're not aware that its touching the inside of the box. With the box your showing, I don't know how that would even come close to fitting. I'm sure the vendor thought you had a regular standard instrument box. If you visit our website, you can see our rebuilt Headlight/Charging switches which were made by AC Delco. I'm probably the only knucklehead on the planet that still makes parts for those switches....
