How much weight is "too much" for a mounted implement on a 175 3 point? Will it handle 1250 pounds?

I guess it depends on how far out it hangs from the 3pt arms.

I had a 4 bottom 70s series plow on mine and It lifted it just fine. don't know what it weighted but I am sure it was 1000 lbs +.

If it can pick it up, it isn't too much.

I carried a fully loaded 8-row wide mounted planter on my 180 for years. handled it just fine, i'm sure there wouldn't be that much difference between the 175, and 180!

If the 180 is a 6 cyclinder there is some difference. I have a 175 no weights and a 185 no weights on front. We have a 9' cut disc mower and the 185 handles it fine but the 175 is a bit light in the front when you lift it. If I had weights it would handle it fine as far as picking it up and running it.

The lifting "power" between the two tractors ( as long as they have the same type of lift cylinders) is identical. Front end weight has to be added as needed.

My 175 has suitcase weights. I am trying to determine whether it would be enough tractor for a "fill in and re-plant" planter - 4 row 30 JD 7100.

more than enough! my 180 has one weight on it in front. but I also have a platform made to fit on the front of it, that's where I carry extra seed bags. it'll hold 8-10 bags of seed. of course as I use the seed it'll get lighter, but it never raised the front end off the ground while the planter was on it. even when the boxes were full.

I pick up a 1700# bushhog with just suitcase weights on my early 175D. Later model needs suitcase weights and loaded 9.5L-15's to keep the front end down due to the hollow front casting required for the front mount hydraulic pump....
