Thanks for the pics Joe. Been raining here ( but we needed it ) and it kind of put the whammy on all the July 4th activities. I've got plenty of time to surf  everyone else's photos.

Chuck, we haven't had a drop of rain in over 4 weeks now, many of the gardens around here are already dead.

Man I want to make that steam parade one day. I've never been. Didn't get to go to any parades this year. Had to keep an eye on the birds.

I wonder how many parades featured a confederate regiment? I bet theta not many. You try that in Canton they'll run you off because they're afraid bridge mill and woodmont might not agree.

Joe, thanks for the pictures. Bet it was plenty warm for the guys operating those old steamers today.  We have had some good rains here in parts of Jackson County but down at the farm on Wilkes County it is bone dry.

Tyler, they have a good show up there in November also. I hope I can make it this year.

Joe,  Thanks so much for sharing.  Can't believe how many operating steam engines I saw.  Great Parade.
Happy Fourth of July!

We went to that show a couple of years ago. it was a good one. I wish we had gone Friday rather then Saturday though. Some had already packed up and left by the time we go there. Some guy was riding around on a tri trac that I would have liked to have had. There was a big UC Allis there owned by some guy named Joe Murray but nobody was close by. Anybody ever hear of that guy?

A long ways from Georgia, I visited the Cedar Valleys Memory Museum west of Osage Iowa last Sunday. They have several working steam engines including what they claim is the biggest existing in the world and it has a new boiler. They will be running them in August. http://www.farmcollectorshowdirectory.com/cedar-valley-memories-21st-annual-power-show/" rel="nofollow - http://www.farmcollectorshowdirectory.com/cedar-valley-memories-21st-annual-power-show/   says August 13 and 14, 2016. Their big engine is a Reeves 40-140 cross compound. Their museum web page says open Saturday and Sunday afternoons but it needs to be corrected to say weekends by appointment and there are phone numbers on the door. I called the first one and had a guide with keys in 5 minutes.

Last time I went to the threshing show at Albert City, Iowa there were about 10 steam tractors fired up. Its August 12-14, 2016. http://www.albertcitythreshermen.com/" rel="nofollow - http://www.albertcitythreshermen.com/

Last time I was at the Midwest Old Threshers Reunion labor day weekend at Mount Pleasant Iowa, there were at least 100 steam tractors. A total of about 1000 tractors, the tractor parade took three hours running 3 abreast. http://www.oldthreshers.com/index.cfm/?pageID=58" rel="nofollow - http://www.oldthreshers.com/index.cfm/?pageID=58 September 1 to 5, 2016.

I prefer the Charles City show that weekend, its not nearly as big, likely only a couple steamers, plus the James Watt steam engine dating from 1797 and a couple others inside the buildings. The big engine is a Norberg Corliss engine that powered the Allis Chalmers in Laporte IN.  http://cedarvalleyengineclub.com/Attractions/StationarySteam/tabid/92/Default.aspx" rel="nofollow - http://cedarvalleyengineclub.com/Attractions/StationarySteam/tabid/92/Default.aspx It seems to me to be a more friendly show and about 100 miles closer. http://cedarvalleyengineclub.com/Events/2016show/tabid/95/Default.aspx" rel="nofollow - http://cedarvalleyengineclub.com/Events/2016show/tabid/95/Default.aspx The featured 2016 tractors will be Allis Chalmers and Rumely. I guess its going to be labor day weekend, their web page doesn't say. http://www.farmcollectorshowdirectory.com/cedar-valley-engine-club-51st-annual-threshers-reunion/" rel="nofollow - http://www.farmcollectorshowdirectory.com/cedar-valley-engine-club-51st-annual-threshers-reunion/ says Sept 3 to 5, 2016. They have an often interesting flea market on the show grounds during the show and give out attendance prizes late in each afternoon.
