Picked up 3 D10 fence row specials and one of them has an S after the serial number. What does the S mean? |

Definitely its a S not a 5 and its stamped on the bell housing/torque tube like any other D10 |

I have a D12 Hi Clearance that has a S behind the serial. Is yours a high clearance model? Maybe it stands for special?? Although all AC's are special to me. ------------- B,C,CA,(2)WC's,(4)WD's,(2) WD45'S, 45Diesel, (2)D12'S Series 2, D12 Hiclear,(2)D12 Series 3, HD3, D17NF (3)D17 Series 4 Diesels, M-100 Grader,8550,A few Lawn tractors lots of other AC stuff |

Well went up and looked it over some more its not a high crop,but it does have some different things on it.It has the hydraulic pump up on the block and the tank for the fluid up beside the block ,has a two spool valve.It has what looks to be a CA lift cylinder on the front cultivator frame and two large cylinders on the lift arms they have the snap couple clamps but it has a bracket and set up like it is a 3 point hitch also has a toplink bracket and the bracket undeerneath is bolted on like the snap coupler bracket would be but no provision for the snap couple drawbar arms to hook to.But it does have a snap coupler bell but no large spring like the others, it has a solid bracket instead.it all looks to be original going buy how its mounted and the paint or whats left of it matches up with the rest of the tractor. |

Don't know why you have the S serial number. It is a Series I tractor. What you describe is a Series I with the optional live lift. That is why you have the pump on the engine and the tank. For the bell hitch, there were two options. One with the tractor booster which had the large spring that you describe (like a CA). The cultivator is the one most of the Series I tractors with a live lift had (the control valve has two levers for separate operation of the front and rear rams). The cultivator ram looks exactly like the ones on the CA rear lift, but the hole in the base of the cylinder for the pin is a littler smaller. It will fit a snap coupler B.   |

The lift arms on my tractor look like yours but the snap coupler bell and lower hitch part is totally different, a snap coupler drawbar won't fit on it.Also the one I have looks like it never had a PTO, has the AC rear metal cover on the rear of the rear end where the PTO housing would have bolted on.Sorry I can't do pictures. |

PTO's were optional with the Series I tractor. The plate you have can be removed and a PTO unit added. You can see that it is not flat. The transmission drive stick out about three inches. Since you can't attach a snap coupler drawbar, you are most likely missing the drawbar supports. They attach to the bell assembly but are separate items. |

It has supports but not like the ones you have there that use a snap coupler draw bar this support looks like its would hold 3 pt hitch arms and bolts up where the snap coupler brackets usually mount. |

I suspect somebody has modified the hitch. The picture below is a D12 with a correct drawbar setup. This tractor does not have the live lift option.  |
