How many versions did they make?  Looking at one that seems to have pipe for arms and a cable coming off the gearbox.  Says he had it on a WD.  Google image search didn't come up with anything quite like it.  Supposed to run good.  Gotta talk the wife into it.  Might be punching holes with the D17 before too long.

Thanks to MR  SWINFORD'S AC book and my old memory there were two post hole diggers made for the Allis Chalmers Tractors.  One as build by Roper - who was an after market post hole digger manufacturer - the other # 10 was build by Allis Chalmers La Cross for a three point hitch.
I remember selling one of the snap Coupler diggers for use on a CA.  To me, the distinguishing feature was the gearbox which looked like the rear end in a model T.   That is the only one recall selling other than aftermarket units.
Price from Pop's price book 1960 $ 169 plus Auger Assembly $ 63 - # 137.
Take a look and let us know what you do.
Good Luck!

The # 10 model could also be had in a Snap-Coupler version. I have one with the mounting bracket for the CA D10/12

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.

I agree with Bill.

2 models, one made by Roper, and the Allis Model 10.

Here is a link to a Manual or the #10.

I had 1 of each, sold them a coupla years ago.  They was collecting dust, since I got the auger that mounts on my track loader.  At least they didn't go to china, for scrap...Wink

We had a homemade one that fit directly on the lift arms...I think the gear was a buick rear-end... but it worked.
