One of the bucket cylinders has a small leak on the TS 500 loader on the D14. The rods are 1 1/2" dia but I do not find ANY numbers etc anywhere on cylinders. Where do Ya'll buy the packing kits / seal kits for the loader cylinders on the bucket,,?

Hey Joe
Have a close look at those cylinders.
I took the bucket tilt cylinders off my D-15 Model 415 Loader to a 'hydraulic shop' about 3 years ago because they were leaking.
Yours may be similar and have a 'small' and 'large' O ring inside.
Here is another link to GrandpasTractor website.
Page 29 shows the inards of the cylinder.
Gary
BTW I just got a new Laptop and I had to register to get on the site.
Have you registered ?

Hey Gary,,,well,,chit,,I never got around to makin any calls yesterday,,,it's been really windy here the last week and can't get nuttin done out side,,,, I been piddlin with the scooter to get it ready to sell,,, I tried that link but it just took me to a blank page,,,try it again later this morn,,,,, Actually I been havin LOTZ and LOTZ of issues with havin to log in EVERY time I wanted to get on the site,,, figured I had picked up a bug somewhere on the net,,but my Windows Defender kept tellin me it was runnin OK,,,,,?? then it got to where my keyboard "backspace" and the "up-Dn-side buttons would not let me use em consequetivly,,but had to click, wait, click, wait,,,big PITA,,!!! Finally got tired of tryin different "fixes" and purchased the new software program they been advertising on TV,,,PCMatic...and I want to put in a plug for their anti everything,,,that CHIT works GREAT and their customer service is the absolute GREATEST,,,,!!! After downloading their program, I did several scans until it told me my system was clean. whatever got in my computer had started to make changes on my browser, the registry and on some internal settings,,,,my system was slowly goin to haides in a handbasket. Their Customer service kept emailin me to suggest some dofferent things to resolve the issues till they got my system going like new,,,,PLUS,,,PLUS,,,my system is definitely FASTER with all that BS now gone,,,,AND,,,I can now go back to my blazing typin speed of two fingers 'stead of just one click at a time,,,,, Do most of those loader cylinders now use seals Vs packing,,??

Morn'n Joe
I am no expert on hyd. cylinders by any means.
The older model single acting cylinders on Allis loaders have the Chevron Style V seals at the top. Those you can tighten the compressing nut some as the seals wear.
I guess you need the O ring on the shaft of the double acting cylinders because you are pressurizing the cylinder on both sides.
One side to push it out and one side to push it in.

It looks like the AC cylinder used Vs packing on the piston head and the large and small O rings on the piston guide, the part where the piston goes through at the end of the cylinder. If the inside of the cylinder is rough I use a brake cylinder hone and diesel fuel in a spray bottle to polish it. To start the V packing into the cylinder I use a ring compressor on them. Some types use a funnel style tool to get the packing into the cylinder.

Ok,,Gary and Nella,Thanks for your input,,,I'm goin to hold up removing the cylinders on the loader til I get the backhoe lashed up on the tractor,,,,I'm hopin the seals, after settin so long, relax some and maybe start sealin again,,but I don't want NO LEAKS however it works out,,,
