I'm about finishing up the "field grade restoration" (new paint, fluids, various upgrades, etc - a decent looking work tractor) and needed some front weights.

Locally they're about as rare as hens teeth. Obviously freight is an issue if you buy them on-line. I made the weight for my D17, but they were pretty straightforward. The 7000 took a little design work.

After 3-4 sketches of ideas I finally settled on the final design. Off to the metal shop for a few pieces cut and bent, then home for a bit of welding. I think it will be OK.

This added about 425 lbs, total cost $175.00 and a few hours of garage fun - around $0.41/lb.  If you need more weight just get the cut and bent pieces a little bigger. A few inches either way adds a lot of extra weight.

About 1/2 way welded up;

All welded up, lots of rebar;

Installed on the tractor;

The camper is good. We're heading out in it in about an hour too - headed to Richmond for the NASCAR Race.

On the weight, this is how it's mounted. I ran (3) bolts through the factory weight plate into the C channel, shown above, with the nuts welded on the back side. I don't think it's going to move a bit.

The bolt holes you see on the side are there for lifting. I ran 1/2" eye bolts in both sides, attached a chain and used an engine hoist to lift and mount it. Worked like a champ. The installation took me about 10 minutes, working by myself.

Now I just need to get the rears loaded and it should be ready to work.
