Shameless you should see the stuff out here on the east coast. It rusts if you just look at it cross eyed.   I have a farmall h that has been rust brown since it was just a few years old. Asked my grandfather about cleaning it up as a kid he said don't do that it will just expose more base metal and cause the rust to go deeper faster. Well someday I will clean it all up and paint it pretty again. Buy the way that looks like a heavy load I like the case even if it has too much rust for Shameless. I have a 5240 I hope the transmission on that one is better then mine. It was a nice tractor till it refused to move.

yes all the tractor have rust problems as they are close to the salt water.

some times the sheet metal will look good but be rusting from the inside out as the paint is not that good.

The salt water is not the problem as much as the humidity down here.

it really is a shame that happens so fast for as much as they cost! yo'd a thought that the equipment makers would take that into account wanting to help keep their equipment looking nice for a longer time period. the machines are their best advertisement! kinda like the WHITE brand tractors, i'm sure they would have sold more if the paint they used (anywhere in the USA) would have lasted longer! they were/are a good tractor and had nice looks too, but the paint just ruined them!

It's not the humidity here,it's the stupidity! Leon R  Cmo

we have bought tractor from all over.
Down south they get a lot of rain and not many were protect with roof over them.

Sheet metal from the up north and west is usual better if sit outside.

Anything from the south or from east, west coast is bad most of the time.

From Mo if it sits outside it does not take long for the sheet metal to go bad.

I am not talking about it being abused by the owner.
