a factory one goes in the back of the governor as long as it has a slot in the governor shaft Niel

I still have the factory Distributor, but ordered the tach, cable, nipple and adapter from Steiner. My D17 never had one I take it and wanted to put one in. I was assuming if I took that large nut off the back of the distributor, there should be a space inside to slide the adapter through?
