I just picked up this AC planter and would love to have someone let me know exactly what it is? I'm new to Allis equipment and not sure if I'm right in assuming it's a 333 frame? What are the planter units?
Thanks for any help you may be able to give!

Actually the more I look at the pics on your link I see the chain seems to run differently than mine. Wondering what the differences are in the 70 series units?

Common drive shaft driven from the transport wheel makes it a 700 series planter.
Never had any of those around my area.

I have a 6-30 pull type and an 8-38 3-pt. have changed most of those plastic boxes over to the rectangular fiberglass boxes thru the years. the newer style boxes bolt right on where the plastic ones do. keep those plastic boxes out of the sun when not using them. thru the years they get real brittle and break just looking at them! duct tape will help hold them together about 1 year if not broke to bad! and don't waste money buying new lids from AGCO, they'll break the first time you snap them on, and they're $78. each!

if it's the 3 bar frame, it's a 600 series planter frame.

oh...and all on my planting units are run off the packer wheel, that can be changed to the style shown here, or the one shown can also be converted to the packer wheel drive.

Only 2 bar frame...thinking of using it for sweet corn, it came with a bunch of different plates. Do all the 70 series units accept the same type of plate?

I'd just like to have a 2 row that will plant without having to plow and disc the ground. My Great Uncles old Deere still works and is on 3 point but it was made over a century ago and has a hard time no-till planting Ermm

The units are 72 units. Like Shamless said, most were driven, by the packer wheel. If the frame is 2 bar, it's probably a 770.    IG

the old plate type (other than the air units) all used the same type plate, wheather it be AC or jd, when using the jd plates you need an adapter to go in the middle drive area under the box, the ac plates were made a lot stronger than the jd plates and adapters, but are harder to find. most were made of SS. jd are plastic. the adapters are made of a type of polyolefin. (like plastic) they are still available from the manufacter In Lincoln Ne. (trying to remember the name) can google planter plates and find them.
