Hello, I just bought a 7060, in good shape and only about 5,000 hrs on it. I would like to plow with the duals on---so I am looking at buying an IH 155 rollover plow. However, I don't want to pull the guts out of this tractor! I farm in Southwestern Idaho--and the ground isn't too heavy. I would just rather be safe than sorry...the plow looks pretty heavy. a 7060 will hardly know a 5 bottom plow is back there. You will usually just run one dual on the unplowed left side so that the single rear tire on the right will be placed in the furrow. ------------- 1957 WD45 dad's first AC 1968 one-seventy 1956 F40 Ferguson |

| If you want to leave both duals on you need to find an on land plow, meaning that the whole tractor is out of the furrow. |

| We pulled 6-16 with our 7030 years ago...it was a load in heavy ground. We had it sitting at 175 hp...3 gear button down and every once in a while you would have to put it in 3 low so she could cool down |

| The plow I'm looking at is a flip plow. From what I understand...it is an on land plow. It seems fairly large and heavy. I worry my 7060 might not lift it enough to flip it around. I will try to post a picture of one like it. |

With front weights you should be fine, the plow is big but there is a lot of air between the steel stuff. My 8030 hardly knows there is a 4 bottom AC spinner on it except when it picks up the plow in sod.

| Paco...no, mine was a semi mount furrow plow, on land and furrow pulls no different if tractor is set up right. on land is usually a bigger plow and allows the operator to plow with duals left on so you don't hafta mount and dismount the duals all the time (labor saver). you'll be fine with that plow pictured on your 7060! but do put front weights on it. (full set). |

When I bought my 7060, I needed to plow some old alfalfa sod, so I hooked up my AC 6-16 plow,,,,,,,,,,,,, maybe it was a 2000 series. I dropped it in about 7-8 inches deep and started in. The tach went up and pegged, but it sounded like it might be pulling hard. I shifted up a gear and the same thing. I was in the nine mile per hour gear BEFORE the tach needle came off the stop! Of course the sod ribbon was being thrown about 3-4 feet, so I just dropped back to a normal gear! That 7060 is more tractor than you think! ------------- You don't really have to be smart if you know who is! |

In furrow plows are easier to run a straight line. Once you get a furrow started, you just drive your right side in it. On land you have to keep an eye out to make sur eyou aren't wandering. AaronSEIA |

| I think the three point arms and linkage will in short time fail on the 7060 with that 5 bottom 155 it will pull it but you will break the hitch 4btm would be a better match rollover plows are very hard on the tractors I have ih145 in furrow behind 8070 mfd and thats a nice match but a load on the 3pt |

| There have been lots of 5 bottom on land rollover plows used on 7060's around here over the years with no problems, just be careful, it is a lot of weight back there. |

| I don't care the size of the tractor to the # of bottoms, sure a 7060 will pull 5 with no sweat. But I will never ever go back to a fully mounted, and doubly ditto so for a rollover. If you become stuck at all, game over!! To many surprise water holes in my ground. |

In theory, you would think the onland would pull better, equal traction on both wheels, etc., but in practice the right wheel without a dual in the furrow works better. Partly it's due to the center of tractor being closer to center of draft on the plow, and also the better traction of the furrow wheel I think. When we got our 220 some years ago, we set it up for an on land hitch with duals, and went back to having the right wheel in the furrow. Plus as noted it's much easier to keep going straight! |

my 7060 pulled my old 6z16 melroe anchor fine with singles, no fluid, and IIRC only one extra set of wheel weights. Going up hills in my sand would stop me though, 1FastHigh, and I'd drop it to 1HSlow but didn't have the weight and would spin out. I only needed to break the land so I wasn't too worried about efficiency. and I plowed horribly, but got a good kill regardless. on the flat areas, I could have pulled in 2HF for me, weight was the limiting factor, which surprised me, as the 7060 is almost double the weight of my Case930, and the 930 is rated at 6 bottoms. I doubt it would pull my 6z16 anchor though ------------- AC7060Pd 1975 |
