Does anyone know where I could find a new cutting edge for my Allis blade? I believe the part number is 403578.

The last time I needed one, I got it from CAT. Bolt holes are prefect, just bolt up and it was a fair enough price.

I had this question a couple three years ago for some extensions I acquired. As with Michael, I found out that CAT was the only place that carried the cutting edge that would work. Had to cut it down for my extensions and only three out of four bolt holes were in the cutting edge for the extensions, but works. There was a discussion on here about it at the time. Seems someone had a comment about a cutting edge CAT offered that was at a lower price than the one I picked up. Maybe someone will respond about that, or you could find the previous thread discussing.

I got one from CAT a few years ago for my SC blade. I forget the part number and don't have time right now to search for my posts on it. Blade was only around $60 if I remember right.

Your local county road department may have some off their road graders that they consider work out. The ones around here have of lot of life left in them for your purpose

For those that got the edges from CAT, did you go to a local CAT dealer? I am needing one for my blade as well. And $60 sounds much better than the $250 I found online.
And CAT in this case is short for Catepillar, right?

I helped a friend put snow plow edges on his Tucker Speed Mover. They worked better than any of the worn out grader stuff. We did have to adjust a couple of holes.

Yeah, went to the local CAT (Catepillar) dealer. Seems mine for the two extensions was around $110. But, as I mentioned, seems there was a less expensive alternative I wasn't aware of, but was mention in one of the threads on the forum after I bought mine.

they offer soft blades and hard blades, the hard ones are more expensive. the soft ones will/should out last us!

Another option might be to have someone weld on 'hard surface' material. Friend (who welds) did that for his snowplow blade.Just check the 'math' though, might be cheaper to buy a new blade than to have the old one resurfaced......

When I did it for my extensions, I just took the extension and the old cutting edge in. They did the measuring and I could compare with what they had on hand to get the correct one. As I mentioned, I then had to cut it down to fit the extensions.
Dave in il, how did you get the search to work so you could find that old thread. Never seems to want to work for me when I try to search. I think I also had a thread started where I showed a picture of what I was doing, but couldn't find that one either. Crazy technology!

I used Google instead of this sights search engine. For some reason this sight's search engine is a bit hit or miss when I'm looking for something. Google had your post with pictures listed. I put allis blade cutting edge and got 3 or 4 posts from this and some unrelated stuff.

A buddy with a Allis M100 Grader went to cat for the cutting edge, was not terribly priced either.
