Salvage yard has a series 3 d17 with the distributor pump power steering. Wondering if I can just bolt the whole front end casting on my series 1? Are these systems problematic and are they servicable in case it doesnt work after installation? It is a narrow front.

A real series 3 has the belt driven style pump, not the governor style. Both systems work the same.

Now David has me thinking. My D-17 (Series 1) steers hard. I would love to convert it to power steering. Mine is wife front, but I wouldn't care which it was. Does anyone else have a power steering for sale (to ship to NY state)?

Rick has a nice setup on classifieds. I just dont know if I want to put the money in this tractor yet. Already rebuilding engine and new clutch. No idea if its even gonna have 3rd gear. Although I did drive it into the garage with the starter and did not come out lol
