          | I have searched the website of Archer and did not find any evidence of the use of the name and logo of Allis-Chalmers. Does anyone know what will or has been done by Archer with the name, Allis-Chalmers and the logo? Perhaps we should all get together, pool
our resources and buy the name and logo?

          | simplicity  may have at least  some  control  of the name and logo as they  tried to market a few new ac riding tractors,  within  the  last few years. ac energy got bought out a few years  ago, but i can't  remember who the buyer was  , maybe somebody remembers.

          | Archer is the name of the New company here in the US, it was a merger of Allis Chalmers Energy and Seawell, Seawell is world wide and foreign owned,,, but in the US the name is Archer,, it had history of A.C. Energy a while back,, |

          | I've read or been told that Agco is working on trying to get the rights to the Allis-Chalmers name. At present Agco only has the rights to Allis. That is why we never see the Allis-Chalmers name in any Agco things.

          | Great information to know. Although, William J. Chalmers had a bit of a dubious reputation, so hopefully it is not too expensive to obtain the rights... |

          | I always liked the name "Agco Allis" as it had a nice ring to it.  But Agco has chosen to bury that one, why would they want to use Allis-Chalmers? |

Nice lady at ITT emailed this to me:

Thank you for your email.  With the ITT Corporation spin
off in 2011, the AC Pump product line is carried by both ITT Corporation and
Xylem Inc.

I was able to find a historical account of the Allis Chalmers
pump division in Xylem’s website and provided the link.

Looks like in 2014 they retired the A-C name

June 17, 2014     Flygt A-C Custom Pump Operation becomes part of Xylem Water
Solutions    To Our Valued Customers:   On October 31, 2011, ITT Corporation separated
the company’s business into three distinct publicly traded companies as
follows:   Xylem, Inc. – a
stand-alone water technology corporation focused on solving the world’s most
complex water-related problems.   ITT Corporation – a
diversified global manufacturer of engineered industrial products and
technology solutions.   ITT Excelis – a
global manufacturer focused on the defense and information solutions markets.   The purpose of the separation was to
enable each of these companies to focus their strategies, structure, and
capital on their served markets to unlock their full market potential.   The Flygt A-C Custom Pump facility,
formerly ITT A-C Custom Pump, in Pewaukee, Wisconsin was transferred to Xylem
Inc. as part of this reorganization.   Flygt A-C Custom Pump has a
longstanding heritage of manufacturing engineered custom pumps in the water and
wastewater as well as power generation markets.
Historically this is the organization that was formerly the Allis
Chalmers Pump Company founded in 1901.
In 1987, ITT Corporation purchased the Allis Chalmers Pump Company and
renamed it ITT A-C Pump.  Subsequently,
in 2005 ITT transferred the Pewaukee operation (ITT A-C Custom Pump) into the
Flygt organization to better align the facility to match the intended markets
served.   Although we may have a new company
name, Xylem Inc., our facility, employees, and product designs are the heritage
of Allis Chalmers and ITT A-C Pump.  Our extensive installations and references in
the industry are a result of the efforts of our employees and operations.  We look forward to continuing our proud
tradition of manufacturing the most efficient and durable pumps in the world!   Finally, to facilitate your
understanding and handling of this change we have included two attachments or
visual aids.   Best regards,       James D. Peterson Director, Global Marketing &
Engineering Flygt A-C Custom Pump

          | Allis Chalmers Energy actually has a funny history, Allis had a small shop in Houston repairing oil drilling equipment , Houston Dynamics I think, or bought them; any way that was all AC had left , then OilQuip bought this and renamed every thing they had Allis Chalmers Energy I think for tax credits etc that came with the Allis name,so truly the AC we knew was gone |

          | At the 2015 Farm Progress Show in Decatur, IL. a friend of mine was told in the AGCO display area that AGCO has nothing to do with the Allis-Chalmers name or anything else to do with Allis-Chalmers.  I was there, too, and noticed that they were selling "heritage" shirts and other memorabilia with other brand names (Oliver for example) on them but nothing with Allis-Chalmers. |

          | Allis Chalmers Energy took off in about 2003, the year he went on a buying spree. Reportedly, a fella from the Middle East bought the name to allow the purchase of a number of companies that he put under the A-C-E umbrella so it could be sold off as he built it up during the oil/gas price run-up, and that is exactly what he did a few years back. Yup, he made a killing as he got out "at the peak".

          | Allis-Chalmers Energy was purchased by Seawell back in 2010. I use to stay in contact with them for prosperity sake. I did speak with A-C energy before the sale and they owned the name (A-C) and licensed it out for a fee (E,G Briggs and Stratton)to market the A-C lawn mowers.
I've lost track of Seawell now. Perhaps there are some A-C energy people still there that would know.

 Hope that helps.

 Thanks.

          | i am thinking ACenergy may have gotten the 95 or million in tax credits that allis had when they went under.  is the Allis chalmers a copyrighted name if it is there must be a way to find out who holds the copyright, if it isn't copyrighted it is possible it may be fair game .

          | Does anyone know a copyright lawyer?  This is confusing to us but to someone who deals with this every day, probably simple.  I suspect all the copyright info is available online but I don't know where to start.  Sure would be wonderful to the see the AC logo on tractors and machinery again.  I wonder what AGCO corporate thinks about all this.  I can't believe that they wouldn't want control of the AC brand, even if they don't want to use it right now.
