Defintaly not a pha8 application Napa said part number came back as a hydraulic filter. I removed it from the top right it sits upside down http://s1283.photobucket.com/user/faym08/media/34B75A05-C174-4FD9-A21A-D6339EB119A1_zpspvccimro.jpg.html" rel="nofollow">

Wouldn't the NAPA # be 1101 for the oil filter used for that tractor?

It looks like a NAPA 7011. The Fram replacement # is C 159.

Early D15, not a series II. Later used the pH8a equivilant. Early used the ones with jar threads and the center stand pipe.

OK - I'm hesitant to say too much about filters 'cause its kinda a touchy subject on here. I believe the NAPA 7011 replaced the 1101 model. I recently rebuilt my CA engine and had good oil pressure with both the 7011 and the C 159. I can't say for sure it's the same filter you need on your D15 but it looks like it.

The 7011 probably is the new number, I couldn't think of that number, but I know the 1101 is the older number. Rick

newbe........... everyone is right. The ALLIS tractors in the 1940-50s used the filter you have above in the photo. It is a bypass filter, stuffed with cotton and filters about 15% of the total oil flow. The FRAM number s C159............ The PH8 filter was used sometime after 1960 on the newer D series tractors ( not the very first ones) and it has the spin on center tube like used on all autos.
------------- Like them all, but love the "B"s.

ALL D-15 gassers used PH-8A style oil filters. D-14's did not. If you find a D-15 that has the old cotton string filter, someone put a D-14 engine in it.

If you get the motor number from the side of the block and post it here that will probably help to figure out what you have

We had a D15 3pt hitch that we blew two holes in the block (connecting rod let loose and punched a hole on each side) and we put a D14 motor in it. Sold it 35 years ago. Just wonderin if it is our old one??? MA and NH are border states......

I have to agree with Dr Allis on this one. I have an early D15 and it has the newer type filter, not the one shown. However my D14 does use the one shown. LOL Bob
