Mowing waterways this morning and the PTO would disengage frequently in between shifting from forward to reverse, nit all the time but enough to get me annoyed. Any suggestions as to the problem?? Thought it was a pressure issue from disengaging and engaging the clutch pedal but it doesn't do it sitting still.

Standby pressure on the piston pump needs to be set up, connect a 3000 psi guage to the tee on the pto valve, its a #6 JIC cap, standby pressure should be in the 350-400 psi range, by activating a remote you can check the high pressure setting, it should be around 2300-2400 psi. Pressures are adjusted on the compensator that bolts to the end of the piston pump, some pumps use shims later ones have adjusting screws, the large spool is high pressure and the small one is standby pressure.
