The shifter on my new to me WD is floppy. I see there is 1 pin in the pedestal  that I can wiggle part of the way out but it feels like it has a spring on it. The parts book shows the pin but does it simply pull out?

Thanks

If it is the square headed one that aligns the shifting ball. Then yes, it just pulls out. You can get oversized ones from vendors on this sight.
