I'm adding a hydraulic unit to the rear of my HD11B (not the series B, the original!) so that I can run hydraulics for our Rome disc. It is currently a bareback machine.

Looking for specs for the end of the top shaft that comes out the transmission.
Outside diameter?
 # of splines?
etc?

Looking through the parts book, it looks like the top shaft is part #621678 (pg 269) and I would need a coupler similar to #068388 (pg 584). I am then going to extend that shaft back through the rear of the bevel gear housing, through a support bearing similar to page 584. Fab a bracket on the rear to hold a Williams tank/valve/pump unit that came off of an old International 2ton truck we scrapped. 1 outlet, but that's all the disc needs.

I have milled external splines on shafts before, but not internal. (And am not really tooled up to do internal.) So I'm hoping it's a somewhat standard size!

I would bet Gemdozer has a coupler and he is in Canada.

Good thought. I sent an email to Lazyts already - he's closer!

Lazyts emailed me back and says it is 2" diameter 15 spline.

That seems to match up with the bearing in the rear of the transmission. 069428 crosses to a 6311 bearing which is 55mm ID (120mm OD).

Now I just need to find a 2" 15 spline coupler to make an adapter shaft!

Is Cambrian Equipment still in business in Winnipeg? It has been years since I stopped by there and they had some Allis construction equipment. I remember it as a huge messy salvage yard and the old guy that ran it was really hard to deal with.

Thanks for looking Gemdozer.

Does anyone know if other makes used the same size shaft? Many from the same era used the same rear hydraulic units, winches, etc.

Can't hurt to call a Cat dealer.
