Hi folks, new guy here to the forum. Just recently purchased an old D12 AC with a backhoe attachment. Its been a fun introduction to older machines for my wife and I - positive ground was an interesting thing at first. We have done many different things to get it running.  Right now I think I may be having starter issues. With a full charged battery, that has been recently tested at the parts store, it cranks over real slow like. As if the battery was dead. Was looking around for a newer or rebuilt starter, but they are outrageously priced. Then I thought about rebuilding, but can only find starter rebuild kits for other types of AC tractors, or I only find the bendix drives. I am pretty sure that I dont have the bendix anyhow, since I have a solenoid. Anyone else rebuild for a D12?

You may have already checked this out but if not... Check the cables from the battery and especially the ground from the cable to the tractor.  Quite often a problem.
I'm not positive, but I think you do have a bendix on the starter shaft, could be wrong, just thinking the solenoid is just a power switch to keep the cable shorter.
There are much more knowledgeable guys on here who can help you.
Oh and Welcome to the forum!
