Question for the brain trust. Where does a WD45D register oil pressure from? Reason I am asking is mine will have great oil pressure until I start working it hard and it gets warm. It does not start knocking just concerns me that it has very low pressure. Thanks Leonard |

Oil pressure for the gauge comes from the main oil galley beside the cam. If your oil pressure drops after warming up then I say the cam bearings are in need or replacing. Have you tried turning in the oil pressure relief screw a turn or so?

Can't really answer that one but I know the 45D's used the bypass oil system instead of full flow. Be sure the stand pipes are in the filters and not drove in too deep as to cover the hole inside.It could very well suffer the same problem as WD's with worn cam brgs causing low pressure.I don't know how the oil flows in the 230 diesel.Someone will have a better response. ...and Don did while I was typing... |

| Cam bearings on the 45 Diesel are not pressure lubed, so the cam bearings are not the problem, like Don said try adjusting the regulating screw, it is at the front of the block below the injection pump. |
