my friend said It is possible for the injector to break off in the head if I don't know what im doing and I will have to pull the head off. Is this true. What is the procedure? Ty

I think the professional method is to use a slide hammer.Easy on an injector that has the fuel going in the top.I would think equal prying under hold down ears would suffice.Just go straight. Some one here will have a better answer.

never seen that happen, if it is the ac injector and the big line goes in the side of the inj - just remove the 2 bolts and start tapping and prying with some solvent oil around the inj. It will come out - there is a copper washer seal on the bottom, if it doesn't come out dig it out. A screwdriver with a slot cut on the side works great.

Thank you. I think he meant that what the injector sits in(the sleeve) might come out with the injector, then I would have to pull the head. Is this common?

I'd the copper cup that is fitted into the head comes out its not the end of the world. When this happens it lets all of your coolant into the cylinder. If the cooper begins to come with the injector drain the coolant and remove injector. You will need a special driver to install the new cooper sleeve.

185 shouldn't have the cups in the head anyway.

no copper sleeves on the 185's and if a copper sleeve head does come out - it has to be reamed, and pressed back in with special tool and tested for leaks.... Some of the old heads even had to be resized to accept the new thicker sleeves.

The best way for us to get the copper washers out is to screw a bolt a littler bigger into the hole then it kinda of concaves the other way so it slides out easier

I know on my 190xt I just used two large screwdrivers and just gently wiggled up under the ears. I had one washer not come out and with injpumped as my man of knowledge I used a 5/8 corse thread tap to pull it out. I would imagine a bolt of the same size would work great as well.
