I believe that the early hand crankers didn't have a hole at all....
Different torque tube.

I have seen pictures of the C that were hand crank tractors from the factory, after they discontinued making the torque tube without the hole, that had a cover like a core plug. You could most likely make one out of 16 gage steel. Make a cardboard pattern, cut the steel slightly larger, lay the cut piece on a bag of sand and tap from the center out until you have a slight dome with it sliding in the hole. Probly have to file to fit. You would not need a very high dome, just enough to cause it to expand tight in the hole when you flatten it when in the hole against a stop at the outside. You would need to make a stop inside the hole to install it with the torque tube on the tractor. With the torque tube off you could use a starter drive end slid in from the inside as a stop. It looked much like the one used in the first power take off units.

Bill is spot on I just looked it up and the rear plug from a WC with ser# 67328 & up out of a cast iron rear end will fit, they have the same part number. AGCO #
