I went to look at a 160 today that someone had started to rebuild and then decided he needed a tractor right now and bought another one. Had not even been into engine yet, just the front end off. Has anyone overhauled a 160? He said it had been smoking and started putting oil out the exhaust pipe. I know some parts are getting hard to get as I have a 160 already. Just wondering thoughts from someone that worked on them. Tires and sheet metal all good. Thanks

Shouldn't be a problem getting parts for the Perkins 3.152 as there are millions out there.

I think you will find parts for the Perkins engines significantly less costly than for most AC tractors and like they said above, readily available.

I had the same engine in a Massey 235, very good motor and fuel efficent. As comon as they are you could also buy a factory reman I'm thinking, will cost more than if you do it yourself but prolly comes with a waranty.
