    Posted: 29 Sep 2014 at 5:53pm
I bought an AC 715D backhoe at auction this weekend. I would like to know what type of hydro oil it uses. The tranny takes dextron automatic fluid, there was a sticker on the side of the machine. The hydrolic fluid tank has red fluid in it but I can't find anything about the type. It's a 78 or so with a cummins diesel, seems to run pretty good. Thanks for any info.

The last of the 715D or last years built in the 80's uses the 4 cyl Cummins - ( 83 to 86)?
rest of machine was similar to the 715B-D
This division handled the forktrucks and loaders - not the Fiat-Allis line .
Just before the sale of the Industrial line by AC they did a lot of changing , then when the Div was sold again to IR and then ?
Hyd Fluid for loader and hoe - any good hyd oil , or 10/30 oil.
could also use the Universal Tractor Fluid

Coke,
Thanks so much for your response. I figured regular hydro fluid but wasn't sure. I'd hate to put something in it that would damage something.

Thanks again

Motors used depended on year built , as CDS acquired the AC line of industrial and continued building machines , then the D model could not obtain Perkins diesel so changed engines about that time . CDS then sold loader Div to Ingersoll when they acquired the fork truck Div and large loaders , but produced some TLB also .
Ingersoll then sold off their share of same equipment to ???
