I have a late production MEP-006a Genset. I want to install a block heater, but after reading some posts I'm not sure what model engine this beast has. It says it's a 3500, but some say it only says that, it's really something else ??? If anyone has already done this, your help is welcome.

They are the 3500, built to military contract specs (a few minor differences). Should be able to cross over most all parts except governor system. I used to work on those a lot in the 80's.

Thanks , what location is recommended for a block heater. The two plugs I used to do a flush of the block are only 3/8 NPT , not big enough.

Perhaps a lower radiator hose percolator type, have had success with these on engines I could not adapt a block mount. If there are any side plates on the 3500, one could be removed and a conventional flange mount as is placed in Cummins blocks or even the style in my 180D?

Is this the same style block as in my 7G?
