Trying to button up my allis CA rebuild. It originally had pal nuts on the rod bolts. Should I get some new ones, add a drop of loctite or just torque them and call it good. They are not castle nuts so I can not put in cotter pins

the service manual says nothing about replacement or locktite... says to "install and torque"    ..... normally you can feel a little "resistance" in the threads as you install... they should not SPIN on like a standard nut.
