Well, I managed to repair the underhood muffler on my crawler. About 30$ in parts and a lot of welding. Even without the conventional muffler installed, the engine sounds so much nicer. Exhaust leaks can create a lot of phantom engine noises. Also found my lift ram head packing leaks were caused by someone using 3" long bolts instead of the 1.5" factory bolts. That bottomed out the bolts and left the gland loose.
