Have light colored spots over about 300-400 square feet in the shade. What will take it off? Maybe white vinegar, chlorine mix, or ?

Cut the tree down.
I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

I use Moss B Ware powder for roofs and sidewalks to keep algae and moss off my roof.  I have an asphalt roof and in the fall I sprinkle the powder along the ridge line and let the rains wash it down into all the little crevices.  Keeps the roof looking fresh and clean.  Been using it for years no problems.

Zinc will also inhibit the growth or staining , look at areas around flashings on shigles and notice those areas are clean .

Moss B ware is 99,44% zinc..something. It's listed in the SDS !

The 'sneaky' way to SEE what's actually in products being sold, check the SDS forms.

Had my grandson mix 1/3 gallon 12.5% chlorine with 1 gallon water and sprayed on with a hand pump sprayer. So far so good.
And yes I was up there working on some flashing and he's 20 so no labor laws broken,
