I have a 652 AC Dozer. It needs couple of seals. At the moment I have the steering clutches out because one needed attention and I was planning on doing both. I bought dozer from original owner who didn’t use much. It sat long time. Total hours on machine 470 hours. Yes that is correct. Everything is original. Before I took clutches out I did drive it forward and backwards and would turn one way some. Just seeing if any one interested in it. Runs good. If interested just contact me. Also if anyone has parts let me know please. My cell is +13364538496

MinnPar or Western Gear may have the clutch parts.  There have been improvements in the sprocket shaft seals. We did our HD3 twice before we sealed the sprocket shaft seals. MINNPAR had the kit. A picture of the tractor would be beneficial.

Any seal can be matched up through a local bearing supply house or a good auto parts store .
Worn shafts can be repaired with speedy sleeve and proper matching seals .
I do both rear axle seals with speedy sleeves, after having 2 axles break that had been welded and ground back to size - seems that took the heat treating out of axle and made them brittle

Where the parts welded or what is called metal spray? I have many had things metal sprayed with very good luck. But a old process now days, the last old guy using it has died and don't know if I can get it done locally.

I think you are meaning General Gear, rather than Western Gear.

Metal spray works on parts that aren't heat treated but when it comes to things like axle shafts I am unsure . All I know I I bought 2 axles from same supplier and they both snapped at same place (wear point of seal to shaft)  so with being into it for the 4th time I went with a worn seal area and used a speedy sleeve - was still working 2 years later when I sold the machine .

An axle shaft that is welded on and not stress relieved along with normalized afterward is a very likely candidate for breakage. Most axles are of a medium carbon steel such as C1045 which takes a very good case hardening through splined areas and bearing surfaces. It is also ductile enough to absorb the torsional stress induced through driving something such as a wheel, or sprocket end.

Once this heat treatment is disrupted such as welding does to the base material, stresses in the molecular structure are induced as nodules and such are no longer aligned which give the material strength. Post welding stress relieving and normalization treatment restore these properties.

Not many repair facilities would have this capability.

I bought a bunch of parts from General Gear and Machine in Idaho. A forum member Rick rebuilt the clutches for me.
