I have an 04 Silverado WT with the 4.3 v6 engine. I have a clicking sound coming from the fan area. When I have the manual heater control in the blue zone, it is clicking all the time. If I raise it to the red area, it stops. What piece do I need to replace to stop this? My thinking is the HVAC Door Actuator. What do you guys who KNOW and work on em think? Thanks guys!

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.

There is normally a BLEND DOOR that mixes the warm and cool air to get the correct temp.. If you set it to "cool" and the adjuster is broken in the "warm" position, then yes.. it will set there and CLICK, CLICK, CLICK as it tries to position the door to your set position.... I think your looking at the right area.

+1 on Steve's reply. The problem being sometimes ya gots ta tear the whole dang dash out to get to the one that ain't working. Boys in the shop used to cuss every pickup brand when this happened. I can't do it anymore my dang back won't let me. Good luck with it.

blend door actuator is broken. if you remove the glove box you should be able to reach in and change it one of the 7mm screws is really hard to get to. I had to remove defroster duct and the ECM on my suburban to get one screw out. taped the screw to the wrench to get it back in.
